Education Requirements:

• Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Nevada
• National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])

Experience:

• While specific requirements may vary, most locum NP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

• Level II trauma center
• Responsibilities:
  • Surgical first assist
  • Bedside procedures
  • Rounding independently in NICU, ICU, PICU, Peds and Med/Surg
  • Hospital and ER/UC consults
  • Clinical duties including consultations, post-operative care, fracture care, patient phone calls, medication refills and FMLA documentation
  • Procedures include: craniotomy, craniectomy, spinal fusions, decompressive surgeries, interventions for aneurysms, tumors and nerve injuries
• Practice includes 2 Neurosurgeons
• EMR: Cerner
• Credentialing: 60 days

Requirements:

• Willing to await licensure
• Board certification
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 1-year Neurosurgery experience
